Sunny days remind me that spring is here while rainy, cold days can cause me to doubt if the warm weather is here to stay. Thankfully, the doubt often turns my mind quickly back to knitting! Here are the podcast notes recapping the knitting projects worked on in March.

My Tubular Cast On Mistake
To work the Tubular Cast On, using the Backwards Loop method, I casted on half the number of stitches needed with scrap yarn.
Then, I switched to the yarn for the project and worked four rows in stockinette beginning with a wrong side row (purl).
After those four rows, I purled the first stitch of the row before picking up a loop on the very first row knit with the SCRAP YARN and knit that stitch through the back loop, continuing for the remaining stitches in the row.
My mistake was picking up the loops on the very first row knit with the SCRAP YARN when I should have picked up from the first row knit with the PROJECT YARN.
When I removed the scrap yarn later on, I had live stitches for every other stitch. I encourage you not to make this mistake as I did!
